²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù is deeply saddened by the death of General Alfred M. Gray, Jr., USMC (Ret.) H'88.
General Alfred M. Gray, 29th Commandant of the Marine Corps, a true leader, longtime trustee, friend, and 1988 honorary degree recipient of ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù, died March 20, 2024 in Alexandria, Virginia, after a brief stay in hospice care. On March 22, ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù honored General Gray by flying our National Ensign at half-staff.
He served on the Board of Trustees from 1994 - 2009. He also served on the NUARI Board from 2009-2023. Al was a One-Star General member of the Partridge Society and 1819 Circle.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 7, 1400 - 1600 and 1800 - 2000 at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, Virginia 22314. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date. A full obituary and online guestbook can be viewed at .
